Pragmatic Play expands further into South America with Brazil link-up

Leading software provider, Pragmatic Play has boosted its presence in South America after it secured an agreement to supply content to Brazil operator CtrPixBet as the market gets ready to take off.

As a result of the deal, it means that three of the slots from Pragmatic Play will be initially available to the players at CtrPixBet, which includes the Gates of Olympus titles. Furthermore, the operator will also have access to a number of the brand’s table games, that includes the developer’s latest release, Boom City.

Virtual Sports is another niche that the software provider specialises in and, as a result, players at the Brazilian site will be able to enjoy a range of their products, which ranges from virtual horse racing to virtual greyhound racing.

Maurílio Luiz da Silva, CEO at CtrPixBet, was upbeat about the partnership, indicating that the firm has partnered with one of the best software providers in the industry, especially when it comes to innovation.

Brazilian Online Gambling Industry Growing Rapidly

While the iGaming market in Brazil is still relatively young, it has shown signs of significant growth over the last year, and although the country’s industry is not yet regulated, foreign operators and third parties have been keen to establish themselves in preparation for the expected legislation approval, anticipated to be later this year.

If (and more likely), when this occurs, it will be on course to become the largest LATAM market for online gambling, especially when considering the sports betting potential as well, with there being considerable interest in this across the country.

It is hardly surprising that operators from around the world are eyeing Brazil as one place that could surge when it comes to online gambling over the next few years, especially considering the economy and the size of the population.

Currently, an eye-watering 152 million people in the country have access to the internet, which represents just over 80 per cent of the nation’s population. Brazil is also currently one of the largest ESports (Virtual Sports) markets, with only USA and China ahead of it; great news for Pragmatic Play and, by extension, CtrPixBet, with the latter now able to really capitalise on the former’s innovative Virtual Sports software.

Can CtrPixBet become a force in Brazil?

According to a recent study this year of 50 of the 400 gambling websites currently offered in Brazil that surveyed Google search terms for gambling sites, CtrPixBet ranked joint fourth behind major European brands, with Bet365 coming first with a staggering volume of 20.4 million queries.

The sheer gulf in the numbers is extensive, with second-placed Sportingbet recording 5 million, while the rest were just over one million or lower. Indeed, CtrPixBet had a respectable 1.2 million, tied with Betfair.

It means that there could still be room for the brand to move into the top three, especially if it continues to land strategic deals, such as this one with Pragmatic Play.
